Bradley Beach NJ Criminal Defense Attorneys
Bradley Beach is a much busier jurisdiction for criminal charges than anyone other than an experienced defense attorney would imagine. The town ranks in the top quarter in Monmouth County in terms of both per capita felony and misdemeanor criminal offenses. If you were arrested for an indictable crime of the first, second, third or fourth degree, or a disorderly persons offense, you obviously are not alone. Both the Monmouth County Superior Court and Bradley Beach Municipal Court hear hundreds of charges arising in the town every year. Although 578 of the 743 criminal offenses filed in 2013-14 were for disorderly conduct, harassment, possession of marijuana, simple assault and other lower grade violations, the town also had its share of drug distribution, aggravated assault and other serious offenses.

Bradley Beach Municipal Court Information
As with several other municipal courts these days, Bradley Beach no longer maintains its own facility for sessions. Court is conducted on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 106 West Sylvania Avenue, Neptune City, NJ 07753. Honorable Dennis Lavender, JMC, presides over these proceedings with Kelly Barrett acting as court administrator. The jurisdiction of Bradley Beach Municipal Court is limited to ordinance violations, traffic/motor vehicle offenses and disorderly persons offenses. The 165 indictable crimes written by members of the Bradley Beach Police Department last year were outside the jurisdiction of this court and included aggravated assault, burglary, endangering the welfare of a child and street drug cases involving heroin and cocaine. These first, second, third and fourth degree charges could only be heard by the Monmouth County Superior Court outside of an initial arraignment.
