A third person has died following the deadly crash in Freehold Township last week, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
The third passenger, Antoinette Gallina, 85, of Cliffside Park, a right front passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) in Neptune Township, where she died this past weekend from injuries sustained in the crash.
Father Michael Guglielmelli, 81, and Dolores Guglielmelli, 87, both of Cliffside Park, died the evening of the crash on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
The collision occurred around 6:48 p.m. while a 2012 Honda Ridgeline and 2005 Dodge Caravan were both traveling eastbound along County Route 537 (West Main Street) near the intersection with Wemrock and Stillwells Corner roads.
The Dodge Caravan, driven by Joseph Stasik, 55, of North Brunswick, was stopped and facing eastbound on Route 537 in right lane near Wemrock Road when the Honda Ridgeline, driven by Austin Janowski, 19, of Freehold Township, collided with the rear of the Caravan. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the collision.
A fourth passenger, Helen Gullina-Deluca, 54, of Freehold Township, was seated in the right rear seat at the time of the collision. She was transported to JSUMC where she remains hospitalized.
Stasik, the driver of the Caravan, was taken to JSUMC where he was treated and released.
Janowski, the sole occupant of the Honda, sustained a minor arm injury in the crash. He was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, and Freehold Township Police Department. No summonses or charges have been filed at this time.
