Freehold Municipal Court Information

As previously stated, there are two separate venues in Freehold New Jersey where municipal court matters are heard. The following is a breakdown of helpful information concerning each court:

The Freehold Township Municipal Court is located at One Municipal Plaza, Freehold, NJ 0778. This is where cases arising, for example, at Freehold Raceway Mall, along most of U.S. Route 9, and State Route 18 would be heard. The judge presiding over all hearings is Honorable Nicole Sonnenblick. The court is open for business and available for telephone inquiries at 732-294-2150 between 9-4 on weekdays. The Court Administrator oversees all scheduling and daily supervision of the Freehold Municipal Court and she is Denise Yuhas. Judge Sonnenblick conducts court sessions every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8AM and 1:30PM, as well as two evenings per month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 5PM. The Freehold Borough Municipal Court is located at 1 Municipal Plaza, Freehold, NJ 07728. Questions and communications regarding cases can be addressed with the staff of the court by calling 732-462-2444 or visiting the office weekdays between 8:30AM and 4:00PM. Honorable Scott J. Basen serves as the judge of this Freehold Municipal Court. Kathryn Krause is the Court Administrator. Court sessions are conducted every Tuesday at 1PM. Charges in Freehold Township & Freehold Borough

As previously stated, Freehold is accountable for a significant number of arrests, complaints and summons. During the 12 month period ending June 2014, police in the township arrested 568 individuals for aggravated assault, drug charges like possession of cocaine, burglary, third degree shoplifting and other indictable crimes. There were 1,210 complaints filed for less serious disorderly persons criminal offenses as well. Moving traffic violations totaled 10,822 and included tickets for possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, driving without insurance, reckless driving, driving while suspended and other serious infractions. The Borough Police issued 326 indictables, 1,527 disorderly persons offenses, and 3,197 moving traffic violations during this same period.
